Over the summer, eighth grader Nate Sellers managed a 'Name Your Price' yard sale. All proceeds were advertised to go to the 8th-grade student fund to help support student activities and field trips. He was able to raise $200.

On Tuesday, November 3, our community will vote on implementing this proposed sales tax for the modernization of Middlesex High School, built in 1949.

A comprehensive study has documented significant aging, safety, accessibility, code, and infrastructure needs at MHS.

If approved, the tax would be paid on taxable purchases by residents AND nonresidents, helping to address the urgent need while relieving some of the burden on property tax payers.

Congratulations to Liam Simmons! Liam attended the 2026 TSA National Conference this past summer and won the CO2 Dragster Competition! Out of 173 middle school dragster entries, Liam placed 1st! Check out his first place trophy and winning dragster in the cafeteria display case.

Sometimes we all need a little help. The SCW Backpack Buddies Pantry is available to all students who need a little extra food to get through the weekend. Students who participate select breakfast, lunch, and dinner items on Fridays. Last year we distributed an average of 140 items a week to SCW students. This program is made possible by the generosity of the Kiwanis Club of Middlesex and community partners. If you would like to donate, please use the link below to visit the Pantry Wishlist on Amazon. Donations are delivered directly to SCW.

SCW Fall Sports Tryouts Schedule!

-SCW girls' volleyball - August 19th - after school until 5:30 pm
-SCW co-ed soccer - August 24 - 26 after school until 5:00 pm
-SCW girls' basketball - August 24 after school at MES until 5:00 pm *Students will ride a transfer bus to MES. Pick up will be at MES.

*Please send a note giving your child permission to stay after school for tryouts.

Last Friday 6th grade students attended a field trip to the Town of Urbanna. Students rotated through 5 stations in which they learned about our local waters and history. Students were able to go kayaking, took a short tour through the town, and heard a presentation by Dr. Jim Robusto. A huge thank you to the Friends of Rappahannock and Friends of Urbanna for making this trip possible!
