Sixth graders competed in the annual locker race on Friday! Congratulations to Holton Leistra, the overall winner!!

Congratulations to Liam Simmons! Liam attended the 2026 TSA National Conference this past summer and won the CO2 Dragster Competition! Out of 173 middle school dragster entries, Liam placed 1st! Check out his first place trophy and winning dragster in the cafeteria display case.

-SCW girls' volleyball - August 19th - after school until 5:30 pm
-SCW co-ed soccer - August 24 - 26 after school until 5:00 pm
-SCW girls' basketball - August 24 after school at MES until 5:00 pm *Students will ride a transfer bus to MES. Pick up will be at MES.

*Please send a note giving your child permission to stay after school for tryouts.

Last Friday 6th grade students attended a field trip to the Town of Urbanna. Students rotated through 5 stations in which they learned about our local waters and history. Students were able to go kayaking, took a short tour through the town, and heard a presentation by Dr. Jim Robusto. A huge thank you to the Friends of Rappahannock and Friends of Urbanna for making this trip possible!

As another year comes to a close, the SCW 8th grade technology classes have completed another 8th Grade Outlaw Dragster Championship. Antoine Key created the faster CO2 dragster of the 2025-2026 school year. His dragster raced down the track with an elapsed time of 0.619 seconds with an average speed of 56.176 mph!

SCW's 2025-2026 yearbooks have arrived! They will be distributed on Tuesday to students who pre-ordered. If you did not pre-order, a limited number of yearbooks will be on sale for $35 beginning Tuesday on a first-come, first-served basis

We are proud of new National Junior Honor Society inductees! Congratulations!

On April 30th through May 3rd, twenty St. Clare Walker Middle School TSA members competed at the Virginia TSA Technosphere 2026 State Leadership Conference and Competition held at the Hampton Convention Center. The purpose of Technosphere is to bring together like-minded, self-driven students, who are passionate about technology and STEM education, to one large conference to help focus their interests through related competitions and leadership.

Due to the high level of competitiveness of our students, the St. Clare Walker TSA chapter received 4th place in the Lynn P. Barrier Outstanding Division Award, and also received 6th place in the Arvid Van Dyke Outstanding School Award of the middle schools attending the conference this year.

Seventh grade students celebrated Earth Day last month by eating outside and using reusable trays and utensils. Students are also using more reusable water bottles to reduce the use of plastic.
