Eighth grade students had a wonderful, real-world learning experience with the Reality Store on Friday. We are grateful for our partnerships with the Virginia Cooperative Extension who sponsors this event. We are also thankful for all of the volunteers who come to assist!
Not only did students participate in the Reality Store, they were able to rotate through a station all about MHS, and another station about Bridging Communities!
Our hope is that students left here on Friday with a little more clarity about their future! If you see an 8th grader, ask them which career they were assigned and what the salary was for their career! Then, ask them if they now understand how expensive life can be!

Eighth grade math students had a unique experience practicing tax, tip, and discount when their teachers set up their classrooms like a diner. This real-world lesson demonstrated why knowing how to calculate tax, tip, and discount is a crucial skill.

Don't forget that tomorrow is mismatch Monday!

Check out SCW's Community Pantry! This is a new spin on Backpack Buddies! Thanks to donations from the Cryer Center, teachers, and parents, the pantry is fully stocked.
With parent permission, students are able to visit the pantry on Fridays.
